Zoning Variation—Docket#17- 7 1279 Diane Lane
Chairman Childress called the meeting to order at 8:08 pm and read a statement describing the
hearing notification procedure as well as the legal notice.
The petitioner, Renee Yass, was sworn in and asked to present her case.
Mrs. Yass stated that she lived on a unique triple frontage lot which did not lend itself to
accommodating a large, fenced-in rear yard without pursuing a zoning variation. She indicated
that the fence would serve as a safety measure from traffic for her three(3) small children and
dog.
Mr. Childress opened the meeting to questions from the board.
Mr. Meister indicated that the proposed fence location relative to the traffic pattern along
Biesterfield Road had potential to cause sight line issues.
The Commissioners conferred safety issues relative to traffic pattern around Mrs. Yass' property,
after which Mr. Childress asked for a motion.
A motion to DO GRANT a variation for the installation and construction of a six (6') foot high
wood fence which will extend approximately seventeen and one-half(17.5') feet beyond the
nearest front corner of the principal structure on the lot where the fence is installed and, in line
with the adjacent neighbor's fence along Beisterfield, 1281 Diane Lane, was made by
Mr. Dohrer and seconded by Mrs. Kelley. Upon voting(AYES—Bookler,Kelley,Jameel,
Larson, Childress,Dohrer, Colgan, Meister,DeFrenza.)The motion to DO GRANT the
variance passed unanimously.
Mr. Childress advised the petitioner, Mrs. Yass, to contact the Village Clerk and attend the
subsequent Village Board Meeting. The meeting adjourned at 8:18 p.m.

variation is located at 1279 Diane Lane, Elk Grove Village, Illinois
