AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6-4-5-1:A OF THE VILLAGE CODE
CONCERNING PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN INDUSTRIAL AREAS BY REMOVING
THE TWO-HOUR PARKING RESTRICTION ON CARMEN DRIVE BETWEEN
GREENLEAF AVENUE AND COYLE AVENUE
WHEREAS,Arthur J. Rogers& Company has advised the Village that due to significant
increases in their Tenant's businesses and a resulting increase in employees visitors, and
customers,the two-hour parking restriction on Carmen Drive, between Greenleaf Avenue and
Coyle Avenue imposes a detriment to said businesses; and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and Board of Trustees, after being advised by the Chief of Police
that the two-hour restriction does have a negative impact on business and its recission will not
adversely affect vehicle traffic flow, find and believe that said restriction be eliminated.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That the paragraph referring to two-hour parking restrictions on "All Streets
and Roads East of Busse Road" set forth in Section 6-4-5-1:A of the Village code be amended to
read as follows:
All streets and roads east of Busse Road except for Carmen Drive between
Greenleaf Avenue and Coyle Avenue.
Section 2: That the removal also affects evening parking on Carmen Drive and therefor
Section 6-4-5-1:13, which prohibits parking between eleven o'clock(11:00) P.M. to five o'clock
(5:00)A.M. on certain streets in Industrial Areas be amended by adding thereto the following
street:
Carmen Drive
Section 3: That any person violating any provision of this Ordinance shall be subject to a
fine of not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00)nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00)
for each offense.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk is authorized to publish this ordinance in pamphlet
form.
Section 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication in pamphlet form according to law.
