Approval of Minutes
Minutes for 06/20/2017—Minutes were approved
Invoices for Approval
Invoice#658919 from Advocate Occupational Health for a Medical Evaluation dated
07/6/2017 in the amount of$373
Invoice#656754 from Advocate Occupational Health for a Medical Evaluation dated
07/6/2017 in the amount of$1865
Invoice# 1 form Friedman and Associates for a Psychological Screening dated 08/9/2017 in
the amount of$595
All Invoices were approved.
Correspondence
Notice of Suspension from the Fire Department for a Fire Fighter from Chief Mikel taking
place on August 17th 2017
Notice of Suspension from the Police Department for an officer violating PD Rule 46 from
Chief Walsh taking place on July 13th, 2017.
Old Business
1. Fire Entry Test—The Fire Entry Test was held at Elk Grove High School on August
5th. The Fire Chief was present and met several applicants. All testing went according
to schedule.
2. Fire Promotional Schedule—The Commission agreed to several dates for the Fire
Promotions process. The Commission will revisit the schedule after reviewing with
the testing agency and the Fire Chief.
3. Police Chief Updates—Police Chief was not present.
New Business
1. Fire Department Retirements and openings—The Elk Grove Fire Department had two
retirements which led to vacancies.
2. 6 Month Review for Police Officer—All remarks were positive for the Police Officer.
3. Special Accommodations for Testing—The commission will look into creating a
special accommodations policy for testing. Will have to revisit the topic with
Attorneys.
4. Congratulatory Letter for Lieutenant Promotion—The commission will offer a
congratulatory letter for the promotion of the next Fire Lieutenant.
Eligibility List
1. Firefighter will expire on 09/14/2017.
2. Fire Lieutenant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 11/09/2017.
3. Police Officer Eligibility list Expires February 21St, 2019
4. Police Sergeant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 07/07/2018.
Adiournment
Chairman Ehrke moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by
secretary Kontek and the meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
