HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLAN COMMISSION - 03/16/1972 - COOK COUNTY PLAN OAKTON/TRITON IND PARK MINUTES REGULAR PLAN COMMISSION MEETING March 16, 1972 Members Present: Chairman Pro Tem Krasnow; Messrs . Pottker, Staddler, Siewert, Hamilton, Sorenson; Mrs . Cummins . Others Present: Mrs . Vanderweel, Trustee; Mr. McGrenera , Village Clerk; Mr. Lawrence Anderson of Rogers Industrial Park; Mr. Castleton of United Development. 1 . The- meeting was promptly called to order by Chairman Krasnow at 8:05 p.m . As the first order of business , Mr. Richard Sorenson took the oath of office, which was administered by Mr. McGrenera , giving the Plan Commission its full complement of membership. Minutes of the regular meeting of March 2, 1972 were read by the Secretary and unanimously approved by the members . 2 . New Business: . A . Attendance at the Chicago Association of Commerce and Industry's April 21 , 1972 seminar. It was reported that Chairman Shannon, Mr. Siewert and Mrs . Cummins plan to attend. B . Cook County plan for extending Oakton. It was decided that, having noted the backup material regarding this issue , it was not necessary for the Plan Commission to take any action since the Village and the County had already gone on record in opposition to this ludicrous proposal. C . Triton Industrial Park. It was moved by Hamilton, seconded by Pottker, that Howard Street be extended through to the Perrie Grove Apartment Complex as originally proposed and approved by the Plan Commission. All members present voted AYE. D. Plat of Dedication, Public Street, Gatzke Property. This item was postponed . E. Rogers Industrial Park Unit No. 6 . This item was postponed pending department recommendations . F. Higgins Industrial Park, Unit.No. 77 . A motion to approve this plat was made by Siewert, seconded by Staddler. All members present voted AYE. Higgins Industrial Park Unit No. 78 . A motion to approve this plat was made by Staddler, seconded by Siewert. All members present voted AYE. Higgins Industrial Park Unit No. 79 . This plat was returned for approval by the Engineering Department. 2 . Higgins Industrial Park Unit No. 81 . A motion to approve this plat was made by Cummins , seconded by Siewert. All members present voted AYE. - Higgins Industrial Park Unit No. 82 . This plat was returned for approval or disapproval by the department. G . Village on the Lake - Preliminary of. Phase III. It .is not equitable to merely report that this item was postponed for lack. of department recommendations . It should be recorded in the minutes of these proceedings that members , in their characteristically magnanimous charitable mood towards developers , consented to review and discuss the amended plans of Lot I, Village on the Lake . Forty-five minutes later, frustrated by the challenge to compare the amendments with the previously approved preliminary without the benefit of the depart- ments' analyses, Mr. Siewert proclaimed to Mr. Castleton, "We won't be stampeded! " Mr. Castleton, alert to the sound of indisput- able authority, packed his plan and departed . 3 . Unfinished Business: A . Townhouse Additions - Postponed . B. Disclosure Act - Postponed . C . Plan Commission Dinner. It was decided to move this gala event from April 8th to April 22nd in sensitive consideration of the.possibility that only ivir. Rettenbacher and Mrs . Hamilton might be able to attend on the 8th - and Mr. Hamilton did not like that. D . "Public Hearing Notice . Copies of the ordinance recently adopted by the Village of Arlington Heights were distributed to members for their consideration and discussion at the next meeting. In his customary czarist fashion, Chairman Shannon has precluded this by totally eliminating the item from the agenda of the,April 6 meeting. 4. Committee Reports - none . 5 . Chairman's Report ' - none . 6. Building Commissioner's Report. Mr. Rettenbacher moved forward on his chair as if to start speaking , at which point Mr. Hamilton moved for adjourn- ment.
