ELK GROVE VILLAGE PLAN COMMISSION
September 26, 1974
The special meeting of the Elk Grove Village Plan Commission
was called to order by Acting Chairman Grice at 8:22 P.M. on Thursday,
September 26, 1974 in the Staff Conference Room of the Municipal Building,
901 Wellington Avenue.

Correction to Minutes of September 19, 1974
In regard to removal of the median strip on Higgins Road (in
conjunction with the Yankee Doodle Dandy Restaurant petition) to allow
access across lanes into the restaurant, it was misconstrued that this
is against the Plan Commission's wishes . If the State approves the
removal of the median strip, then the Plan Commission would concur.

It was reiterated that the Plan Commission is seeking further
information, in regard to the temporary sewage retention tank proposed
by Mr. Bonavolonta, than what was contained in the Director of Public
Works and Engineering's memo of September 26, 1974.
Specifically, the Commission is looking for answers to the
following:
What happens when an open retention tank exists
(environmental and health effects)?
What have been the experiences of other communities
and where are they located?
To what extent would the tank be the Village's
responsibility?
Why does the Village have to accept such a responsi-
bility?
What is the best course of action for the Village to
follow among existing alternatives?

What is MSD's position on the retention tank? Please
request same from MSD.
Has Bonavolonta contacted MSD about the tank? Did MSD
approve?
It was further requested that, as much as possible, answers to these
questions be based on fact and not opinion.
Lacking a quorum, the Commission did not discuss Yankee
Doodle Dandy and J . L. Williams' petition for rezoning. The remainder
of the meeting was a discussion between the Commissioners and Trustee
Kenna in regard to the connection of Devon Avenue with Nerge Road.
The Plan Commission may, as was brought forth in the discussion,
require Bonavolonta to extend Nerge Road to conform to the Commission's
desired route.
The meeting was adjourned at 10: 15 P.M.
