HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLAN COMMISSION - 05/16/1984 - PLAN COMMISSION Minutes ELK GROVE VILLAGE PLAN COMMISSION Date: Wednesday, May 16, 1984 Location: Council Chamber Municipal Building 901 Wellington Avenue Members Present: Member Absent: John Glass, Chairman Orrin Stangeland Leah Cummins, Secretary George Mullen Clark Fulton_ Fred Geinosky David Paliganoff Staff Present: Thomas Rettenbacher, Building Commissioner Robin Weaver, Administrative Assistant Public Hearing - Docket 84-3: Petition of George Kittrer for a Text Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance The Public Hearing was called to order by Chairman Glass at 8:13 p.m. Mr. Rolf Campbell, representing the petitioner, presented the proposed changes to the Elk Grove Village Zoning Ordinance to establish a conditional use in the B-2 General Business District. Members of the Plan Commission queried the petitioner, George Kittnar about his proposed use for a school of trucking. Questions included length of lease, number of students, length of course, square footage, license requirements, information with regard to instructor's qualifications, start-up period, location of behind the wheel training and expansion possibilities. It was stressed by Thomas Rettenbacher, Building Commissioner that the request is to allow business and trade schools in the B-2 district, not just this school of trucking. The Public Hearing was adjourned at 9:05 p.m. The Plan Commission revised the proposed language for the Text Amendment. It is attached to this report. Leah Cummins moved that the Text Amendment, as revised, be recommended to the Village Board. It was seconded by George Mullen and passed unanimously by voice vote. The Plan Commission stipulated their recommendation that the Village business license be conditioned on the petitioner obtaining a state license within 60 days of May 16 or the Village license shall be revoked. Staff was directed to prepare a finding of fact. La Quinta Motor Inn Rezoning and Special Use Permit The Plan Commission directed the petitioner to change the site plan and special location plan to show the sidewalks along Busse Road Plan Commission Minutes - 2 - May 16, 1984 La Quinta Motor Inn (continued) and along Oakton Street to be closer to the property line, specifically as indicated on the attached drawing. The site plan and special location plan dated May 17, 1984 were approved. Revisions were made to the draft conditions for the special use permit. In item 4 "Illinois Route 83" was changed to read "Busse Road." In item 8 the following sentence was added: "The date for completion of the installation of landscaping shall be determined at the time of approval of the landscaping plan." Leah Cummins made a motion to approve the revised finding of fact regarding La Quinta. The motion was seconded by Dave Paliganoff and passed unanimously by voice vote. Regency Square Regency Square was placed on the agenda for June 6, 1984. Staff was directed to obtain and forward plans from Ben Rozansky (representing Regency Square) prior to June 6, 1984.
