Discussion - Docket 84-5 Petitioner, Mr. Thomas R: Schreiner
Attorney, Mort Kaplan
Mort Kaplan reviewed position of his client Mr. Schriebner. Although
they presented a site plan and had Rolf Campbell testify during the
Public Hearing that they are not seeking approval of a plan but asking
only that the property be annexed and Zoned B-3 Business on the Meacham
Frontage and B-4 0.&T. for the remainder of their land. The%specific
uses and development plans would be submitted after the property had been
marketed. Plan Commissioner told them they had never before received
such a request from a planner. Mr. Schreiner explained his sincerity and
his lack of planing experience. His request for B-3 and O-T Zoning was
made after he talked with experts such as Rolf Campbell, Bennett and
Kahnweiler and a land appraiser. Mr. Kaplan apparently realized the
lack of support for his request by the Plan Commission and asked that
they make.a decision and forward it on to the Village Board for their
consideration.
It was moved by Fred Geinosky and seconded by Clark Fulton that the
request for zoning not be approved without a specific site plan, to do so
without would be giving out a blank check. The motion to deny carried
unanimously by voice vote.

property owners within 300 feet of property asked to be re-zoned. Mr.

Ashman.
