Chuck Byrum presented information to the Commission regarding
Mr. Donut's customer count for a 24 hour period of business for eleven
consistent days. The busiest days were on Saturdays before 11 a.m.
He then discussed parking needs of the Xian Restaurant. He pointed
out that the two restaurants' peak hours of business did not overlap.
Dave Jones reiterated that the majority of Xian business would
be delivery, not carry-out. He stated that on the busiest day at the
Xian restaurant in Mount Prospect (Saturday), there were only ten
customers for carry-out all day. He also presented pictures of the
Nerge Center lot taken over a 24 hour period showing Mr. Donut's
customers' cars.
Commission members had concerns regarding the other future
tenants of the Center and their parking requirements.
Discussion followed concerning customer numbers, other Center
tenants, future needs for parking, and conditions under which the
shared parking would be acceptable. George Mullen summarized the
concern: whether the two restaurants' peak hours would overlap.
Tom Rettenbacher pointed out that the conditions of the shared
parking would be recorded.
Fred Geinosky made a motion to recommend approval of twenty
shared parking spaces between the Xian restaurant and Mr. Donut,
pursuant to the Special Location Plan as recorded. David Paliganoff
seconded the motion. The vote for approval carried unanimously.
