HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLAN COMMISSION - 10/30/1985 - NERGE CENTER SPECIAL LOCATION PLAN Minutes ELK GROVE VILLAGE PLAN COMMISSION Date: Wednesday, October 30, 1985 Location: Multi-Purpose Room Municipal Building 901 Wellington Avenue The meeting was called to order at 8:10 p.m. George Mullen was voted in as Acting Chairman. Members Present: Members Absent: George Mullen, Acting Chairman John Glass, Chairman Fred Geinosky Leah Cummins, Secretary David Paliganoff Orrin Stan geland Clark Fulton Staff Present: Tom Rettenbacher, Building Commissioner Robin Weaver, Administrative Assistant John Coakley, Administrative Intern Others Present: Chuck Byrum, Attorney representing Nerge Center, Ltd. Partnership Leo Lenaghan, representing Nerge Center, .Ltd. Partnership Dave Jones, Vice-President, Xian Restaurant Special Location Plan - Nerge Center Chuck Byrum presented information to the Commission regarding Mr. Donut's customer count for a 24 hour period of business for eleven consistent days. The busiest days were on Saturdays before 11 a.m. He then discussed parking needs of the Xian Restaurant. He pointed out that the two restaurants' peak hours of business did not overlap. Dave Jones reiterated that the majority of Xian business would be delivery, not carry-out. He stated that on the busiest day at the Xian restaurant in Mount Prospect (Saturday), there were only ten customers for carry-out all day. He also presented pictures of the Nerge Center lot taken over a 24 hour period showing Mr. Donut's customers' cars. Commission members had concerns regarding the other future tenants of the Center and their parking requirements. Discussion followed concerning customer numbers, other Center tenants, future needs for parking, and conditions under which the shared parking would be acceptable. George Mullen summarized the concern: whether the two restaurants' peak hours would overlap. Tom Rettenbacher pointed out that the conditions of the shared parking would be recorded. Fred Geinosky made a motion to recommend approval of twenty shared parking spaces between the Xian restaurant and Mr. Donut, pursuant to the Special Location Plan as recorded. David Paliganoff seconded the motion. The vote for approval carried unanimously. e • Plan Commission Minutes - 2 - October 30, 1985 Plat of Subdivision - Exe1/Wendy's Following discussion of the location of the proposed motel and restaurant and future development in that area, Clark Fulton made a motion to approve the plat subject to staff review. Fred Geinosky seconded the motion. The vote for approval was unanimous.
