MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON JANUARY 19, 2010
Secretary Ehrke called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building, 901
Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village and noted for the record that the following members
were present: Secretary E. Butch Ehrke, and Commissioner Michael P. Kontek.
It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the
minutes of December 10, 2009 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense
with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Secretary
Ehrke declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
1. Police Consultants, Inc., Invoice 5396 dated 12/15/2009 in the amount of
$4,596.00 for administering Fire Lieutenant Written Examination to 18 candidates.
2. Ottosen Britz Kelly Cooper& Gilbert, Invoice#41336 dated 12/31/2009 in the
amount of$1,200.00 for annual retainer fee.
It was moved by Secretary Ehrke and seconded by Commissioner Kontek that the Board
authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation
whereupon the Secretary declared the motion carried.

ELIGIBILITY LIST/HIRING STATUS
1. Police Officer—two vacancies on hold at this time. Twenty-seven names remain
on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on August 1, 2010.
2. Firefighter—no vacancies. Thirty-six names remain on the current eligibility list
scheduled to expire on January 18, 2010.
3. Police Sergeant Eligibility List—Ten names appear on the eligibility list which
will expire on February 4,2012.
4. Fire Lieutenant List—Eleven names appear on the eligibility list which will expire
on January 6, 2012.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Secretary Ehrke
declared the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
