MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 8 : 04 p.m. The minutes
of the October meeting were approved as presented.
Coordinator ' s Report:
Ms . Eike reported that she had received $500 from the Rotary
Club, $500 from the Fraternal Order of Police, and $300
from the Lions of Elk Grove Village to support the gathering
Cof food for Christmas baskets .
Ms . Eike attended a three day conference in Peoria on youth
services and activities which she found especially helpful
and informative .
COMMITTEE REPORTS :
Elk Grove Distance Classic:
Ms . Pohn and Ms . Eike proposed a distribution of funds from
the Classic to the following agencies , reserving a 5% contingency
fund for unanticipated needs throughout the year: Youth
Services of Elk Grove Township, $500 ; Spectrum Youth Services,
$475; Kenneth W. Young Center, $475; Elk Grove Park District,
$800; Conant High School Chemical Reaction Team, $150 ; Elk
Grove Running Team, $100 ; Elk Grove High School Illinois
Citizenship Experience, $400 ; Margaret Mead Student Council
Leadership Camp, $150 . After a brief discussion it was
moved by Dick Penley and seconded by Ray Gunn to approve
the recommendations of the staff concerning the distribution
of funds from this year ' s Classic; motion carried unanimously.
Senior Citizen Concern Committee:
The report was given primarily by Ms . Mahoney, chairperson
of the committee. This committee has been meeting to determine
what steps need to be taken to attempt to deal with some
of the issues raised in the report on the concerns of seniors
