MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 8 : 08 p.m. by Harriet
Dalaskey, Chairperson. After review of the minutes of the
June meeting, it was moved and seconded to approve the minutes
as corrected, it unanimously passed. The correction has
to do with an error on page 3- under announcements ; the date
July 2 , 1988 should be July 21 , 1988 .
Coordinator ' s Report: Given by Mario Giacomuzzi in Ms .
Eike' s absence
See copy of the coordinator ' s report of June, 1988 . In
addition, Mr . Giacomuzzi made reference to the work of the
Youth Employment Service (YES) as detailed on the report
titled Community Service for June, 1988 .
Related to the coordinator ' s report was a discussion led
by Ms . Pohn and Ms . Dalaskey concerning the increased requests
for service, especially of a financial and/or housing nature
which the department has received over the past month or
two. There was thought that these increased requests are
related, at least in part, to Hamilton Courts decision to
withdraw from their federally funded subsidized housing
program of which 128 units are under. Ms . Pohn noted that
a representative from the Department of Housing and Urban
Development and the Housing Authority from the: County of
Cook have been in touch with Nancy in this regard.

Elk Grove Distance Classic:
Ms . Pohn noted that the final arrangements for the Classic
are being pulled together and that there seems to be a good
number of volunteers to provide service before, during the
after the Classic.
Senior Citizen Concern Committee: Given by Mr. Giacomuzzi
