MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 8 : 05 p.m. by Ray Gunn.
Dick Penley motioned to approve the. minutes. Marge Mahoney
seconded it. Motion carried.
Coordinator' s Report : Highlighted by Ray Gunn

Elk Grove Distance Classic Planning Committee : Highlighted
by Ray Gunn
There were 511 registered runners . The race went very
well . The race made nearly $700 more this year than last
year. The race was a huge success . Harriet moved to
give the High School Jazz Band an honorarium of $100 . Dick
seconded. Motion carried. Attached is a copy of a report
on the race and the budget prepared by Barbara Pohn.
Coordination of Services Committee : Highlighted by Ray
Gunn
Kidsline receives 1500 calls a month. Lorraine LaSusa
identified areas of need and solutions. Marge asked if
it was possible to determine if there are repeat callers
or individuals . Attached is a copy of a full report prepared
by Barbara Pohn.
Personnel Committee :
Ray has interviewed five candidates and one more tomorrow.
Barbara has interviewed too. Ray reviewed the screening
process . we will probably get recommendations soon. Good
candidates .
Interqenerational Ad Hoc Committee :
Dick Penley reported on the progress . Unfortunately,
because of the start of a new school year all new groundwork
has to be done.
Organ Donation Program: Harriet Dalaskey reported on
progress . The program is started and doing well. Dennis

Gallitano reported that when you go to get a drivers license
they now ask if you wish to donate organs .
New Business :
Ray Gunn reported a phone call regarding a workshop on
October 16th at Wheeling Township Hall. Marge suggested
that the Teen Center attend the workshop. Dennis said
it would be a good idea for us to go to get more ideas
for more money to do more projects . If Barbara can ' t
go, Harriet will go.
Announcements :
League of Women Voters Housing needs pamphlet was highlighted
by Ray.
Elk Grove Schaumburg Townships Mental Health Center brochure
was shown and "Kids & Drugs -- Time to Intervene" were
discussed.
Dick motioned to adjourn the meeting. Marge seconded
the motion. Meeting was adjourned at 9 : 02 p.m.
