MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 8 :06 p.m. by Marge
Mahoney. Harriet Dalaskey motioned to approve the minutes.
Barbara Rettberg seconded. Motion carried.
Coordinator ' s Report:
Written report is attached. We discussed the December
Board meeting and Christmas Party. The Board meeting
night might also include the Christmas party. We offered
a job to a candidate. We will find out soon. Good candidate.
Coordination of Service : Given by Barbara Pohn
Barbara reported that attendance was poor - only 10 attended
Abuse of the Elderly meeting. The next meeting will be
about alcoholic women and it is hoped that attendance
will improve.
Elk Grove Distance Classic Planning Committee : Given
by Barbara Pohn
Barbara reported that we sent out all race results and
T-shirts . The suggested monies distribution was distributed.
We made $3 , 696 . 00 . The established formula for distribution
was presented and the distribution was presented. We
discussed the distribution. We need a quorum to approve
the distribution of funds. Attached is a breakdown of
allottments of funds from the Distance Classic. Copies
of President Zettek ' s letter was distributed. We will
discuss the future of the Classic at the next meeting.
Barbara reported on the homeless from the Herald article.
A briefing followed about how we can house families and
what can be done.
Barbara reported on a Symposium on drug and alcohol abuse
in Evanston.
Paint Distribution Program:
Barbara reported that what had been arranged fell through.
A fundraising project was discussed. We need paint and

supplies valued at $3 , 000 . A discussion followed. We I
need to know how many homes would warrent assistance vs .
those that don' t qualify. The Health Department should
help determine qualification. We need more information
from the Health Department to determine what to do. It
would be beneficial if Nancy Yiannias would come to our
next board meeting. Harriet Dalaskey moved that we invite
her to attend. Barbara Rettberg seconded. Barbara Pohn
will call her and invite her to the next meeting to explain
more about needs, etc.
Organ Donation Program:
Harriet Dalaskey reported she attended the Heart Exchange
meeting at Loyola. She has placed donor cards at the
Library. She spoke to the Elk Grove Village Junior Women ' s
Club last week. Bro. Philip Kennedy suggested that we
promote this through the hospital. Shirley Garrison may
be helpful in securing donors.
Barbara Rettberg moved for adjournment at 9 :07 p.m. Mary
Paliganoff seconded. Meeting adjourned.
