MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by Harriet Dalaskey.
Dick Penley moved to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Bro.
Philip Kennedy seconded.
Pat McHale spoke to the board about Low-Income Health Care.
Coordinator's Report: Given by Nancy Eike
A copy is enclosed. Nancy Eike received a call from an administrative
assistant from Carol Stream to assist with setting up a Community Service
Board in Carol Stream. Asked if one or two board members would speak
C to him about history of Elk Grove Village Community Service. Marge
suggested contacting Jane Broten.
Coordination of Service: Given by Nancy Eike
Fifteen people attended and the response was great. Next month is
"Dealing with the Emotion of Jealousy".
Elk Grove Distance Classic: Given by Nancy Eike
364 runners - down from 1986. All materials were replaced. The race
was pulled together in 3 weeks. Donors were acknowledged. Alexian Brothers
Medical Center donated alot, as did Midwest Catering, TCBY Yogurt, Des Plaines
Destiny Striders for supplies, Dick Penley and students for their help.
We had to pay $2,000 to replace items. Profit may be $2-3,000.
Intergenerational Ad Hoc Committee: Given by Dick Penley
All ready to go. Breakfasts and Valentine's Day plans are done. Is
teaming seniors with kids for Peanut Day. Kids are ready to paint
houses. Money to come from Rotary.
Paint Distribution Program: Given by Nancy Eike
Rotary allocated $250.00. One house will be painted, supplies will be given
to 3 others. Nancy reported on the qualifications of those receiving
paint. Nancy will work thru the Health Department to procure paint, etc.
Youth Employment Service:
No report.

Announcements:
Program will be offered on "Aids in the Workplace" at Alexian Brothers
Medical Center in October.
Next regular Community Service Board meeting will be Thursday, October 15,
1987 at 8:00 p.m. in the courtroom.
Randy Melind moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:52 p.m. Barbara Rettberg
seconded. Motion carried.
