Kennedy Mary Paliganoff Marge Mahoney Dick Penley Rev. Roger Schindel Barbara Pohn Barbara Rettberg Staff : Karin G: Epe Guest : Richard Olson, Personnel Officer Village of Elk Grove Call to Order : The meeting was called to order at 8 : 08 p.m. by Ray Gunn. Randy Melind motioned to approve the minutes . Harriet Dalaskey seconded it. Motion carried. Coordinator ' s Report : Given by Karin Epe The Little City' s Fund Raising event went very well . Schmerler Ford gave the Village some funds to hire 7 kids to work for the Village for 2 weeks. The program is going well. Elk Grove Distance Classic Planning Committee : Given by Barbara Pohn There are over 100 registrants . Plans are going well. The Board is in favor of using money raised by the race to buy prizes to be given away at the race. The Funding Formula, which funds seniors programs in Illinois is slanted more to rural areas ( $20/person rural, $13/person urban) . The state is also using 1980 Census data which is too outdated. The rural factor is over represented and should be more equalized. The Community Service Board sent a letter to the Governor opposing the rural factor. Randy motioned that the Community Service Board send a letter to President Zettek opposing the intra state funding formula of the Illinois Department of Aging. Harriet seconded . Motion carried. Coordination of Service : Given by Barbara Pohn The 1st meeting will be on September 17 , 1986. The topic will be on Latch Key Children. The speaker will be Lorraine LaSusa, Executive Director of Talkline/Kidsline. CSB/Mins. Page two Organ Donor Program: Given by Harriet Dalaskey Two questions were raised at the last Board Meeting : 1. Who pays for organ removal, transplant, etc. ? Paid for by public aid, insurance, or recepient except kidneys. Medicare pays for kidney transplants , etc. 2 . Who pays for the Immuno suppression drugs - Medicare covers this cost if patient is inpatient or outpatient. Harriet will be going to Village Board meeting regarding the Organ Donor Program. New Business : Karin Epe is resigning from her position to work in the Circuit Court of Cook County Social Service Department. The Board went into Executive Session at 8 : 40 p.m. The Board reconvened at 9 :13 p.m. Dick motion to adjourn the meeting. Harriet seconded the motion.
