MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, July 17 , 1986

Call to Order :
The meeting was called to order at 8 : 05 p.m. .
Approval of the Minutes :
Marge Mahoney motioned to approve the minutes. Harriet
Dalaskey seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Coordinator ' s Report: Given by Karin Epe
Written report is attached. We were asked by the Area
Agency on Aging to send a letter to Governor Thompson
requesting that the funding formula for senior citizen
services be changed to reflect more current census data
and that the rural factor be reduced. The board members
agreed that this would be appropriate letter for Community
Service to send.
A rough draft of the Proposal for the Paint Distribution
program is attached. This information will be used by
Jud Stone of the Rotary Club in preparing a request for
paint and supplies to be submitted to the DeSoto Foundation
sometime prior to their August meeting.
It was suggested that copies of the' Proposal be given
to Mr. Zettek and Mr. Willis for their information. Copies
will be sent to them.
There is a grant to the village from a local Ford dealer
for the purpose of village beautification. It has been
suggested that Y.E.S. kids be hired to do general maintenance
around the village. One suggestion made .by the board
was to clean up behind the fences of homes on Arlington
Heights Road. It was also pointed out that this would
not be necessary if the Health Department would follow
through on fines to these homeowners .
Community Service is attempting to recruit volunteers
for the Little City fund raising drive. We have. been
encountering difficulties due to the summer vacation period.

Elk Grove Distance Classic Planning Committee : Given
by Karin Epe
Preparation for the Distance Classic is moving along as
scheduled. Registration forms have been mailed out to
past runners . Runners have already been registered.
We expect 500 runners. We need volunteers for the day
of the race. Anyone who is interested should contact
Barbara Pohn.
Old Business :
The Living Bank Organ Donation Program: Given by Harriet
Dalaskey. A letter is attached which Harriet Dalaskey
sent to President Zettek in outlining the Organ Donation
Program. The next step is presentation of this program
to the Village Board of Trustees . Harriet will also find
out who is responsible for costs incurred when an organ
is donated.
The Board went into Executive Session at 8 : 40 p.m. The
Board reconvened at 8 :53 p.m. Randy Melind motioned for
adjournment. Harriet Dalaskey seconded it. The meeting
adjourned at 8 :54 p.m.
