Call to Order :
The meeting was called to order at 8 :15 p.m. Harriet Dalaskey
motioned to approve the minutes . Marge Mahoney seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
Coordinator ' s Report :
Written report is attached. Lynette is on vacation.
Coordination of Service Committee : Given by Barbara Pohn
The Steering Committee met in August and has planned the
following programs for the 1985-86 program year.
September - Intensive Family Services : Home Based Therapy
for Families at Risk
October - Adult Children of Alcoholics
November - Adolescent Disorders
December - Parenting After Divorce: Step-parenting,
single parenting, co-parenting
January - Administrative Concerns of Social Service
Agencies : A Panel Discussion
February - Living with Death: The Dying Process
March - The Anti-Social Personality: Fact or Fiction
April - Family Treatment Approaches and Techniques
May - Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome
June - Support Groups for Young Single Parents
Elk Grove Distance Classic Planning Committee: Given by
Barbara Pohn
Planning for the race is going along well . More volunteers
are needed to help out with the run.
Old Business :
Board Organization Meeting: Material regarding an organizational
meeting to be led by Bill Howard and another representative
from Harper College was presented in the Board packet. The

fee would be $200 . No vote was held due to the lack of a
quorum. It was suggested-that Marty call all the Board
members individually, to poll them on whether or not we
should utilize Bill Howard as a facilitator for this meeting.
Volunteer Recruitment for Painting House : No action taken,
as those members involved in pursuing this were not present.
New Business :
Barbara Pohn reported that the Cook County State' s Attorney' s
office is recruiting for its task forces . Anyone interested
should call Kathy Osterman at 443-5198 . The various task
forces include : Community Advisory Council , Environmental
Task Force , Juvenile Protection Task Force, Public Information
Task Force, Drug Task Force, Gang Task Force, Women ' s Issues
Task Force and Victim Rights Task Force.
Marge Mahoney brought up two newspaper articles : One on the
latch key program for District 54 , which- is being postponed
due to only having one bus available; the second one on a
chemically free teen program at Schaumburg High School, set up
by Debbie Cormier.
Harriet Dalaskey brought up an idea regarding raising the
awareness for organ donations . She will look into this
further and report back to the Board.
Marge Mahoney motioned for adjournment. Harriet Dalaskey
seconded it . Meeting was adjourned at 8 : 53 p.m.
