Old Business :
Board Organizational Meeting - The Board reviewed the
Strategic Planning data as developed by Bill Howard and
Alice Wright in conjunction with the Board. The three
priorities right now are: the Living Bank, the Intergenerational
Program Meeting and Government Surplus Food Distribution.
In addition, Lynette is working on emergency shelter,
the latch-key program and outreach to single parents,
all projects which were discussed at our organizational
meeting. The strategic planning for the Board will be
discus:;ed further at our January meeting.
The Living Bank - Harriet Dalaskey is still reviewing
all the information and hopes to have it altogether by
our next meeting.
Government Surplus Food Distribution - The Board reviewed
the proposal for the implementation of this program through
the Community. Service office. It was suggested that
two surveys be completed to see if this is feasible -
one to find out from comparable agencies the amount of
administrative time necessary to do the program, and
the second, to find out if local service organizations
and churches have volunteers willing to assist with the
program. Lynette will report back at our next meeting.
New Business :
Next Board Meeting - The Board decided to cancel its
December Board meeting. The Community Service Board
has met its mandate by already meeting eleven times this
year. A Christmas party is scheduled for Thursday, December
12th at 7 :00 p.m. at the Village Grove Clubhouse.
Publicity for Food Pantry - Mary Paliganoff suggested
publicizing the need for food for the food pantry in
times other then the holidays.
Volunteer Recognition Program - Efforts to select outstanding
volunteer for this recognition are being initiated. Lynette
has submitted an article to be put in December ' s newsletter.

are a little short of last year ' s level of volunteer
coverage for the manning of the Red Kettles at Jewel,
Michaels and Jarosch. Again, we will man this drive
during the first three weekends in December. Several
Community Service Board members volunteered to assist
with this effort.
The Board went into Executive Session at 9 : 45 p.m. The
Board reconvened at 9 :50 p.m.
Dick Penley moved to adjourn. Mary Paliganoff seconded
the motion. The meeting adjourned at 9 : 50 p.m.
