HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLAN COMMISSION - 10/19/1967 - CENTEX INDUSTRIAL PARK UNIT 71 PLAN COMMISSION MEETING October 19, 1967 The members present were: Steve Schwellenbach, Chairman Leah Cummins Gayle Bantner Jack Denny W. R. Ballard Von Schaumburg Jack Denny moved that we recommend the rezoning from M-2 to B-1 of he 9.9612 acres of the area bounded by Route 83 on the East and Elk Grove b ex- / tended on the South, in accordance with the Public Hearing held on October 19. Said property runs 584.5 feet East to West and 742.17 feet South to North. It was seconded by Leah Cummins and the vote was unanimous. The Commission refers Centex Inddstrial Park Unit 71 to the village attorney for an opinion on the overlap of Unit 49 which had previously been approved. Mrs. Cummins moved for the approval of the preliminary and final of Centex Industrial Park Unit 72. It was seconded by Gayle Bantner; vote was unanimous. Mr. Denny moved for the approval of the preliminary and final on Centex Industrial Park Unit 73. It was seconded by Von Schaumburg and the vote was unanimous. I moved that we recommend that the present village ordinance be amended in accordance with Public Hearing held on September 28, which was recessed to October 5. It was seconded by Leah Cummins; vote was unanimous. Mrs. Cummins moved that we recommend the approval of the petition for rezoning from M-2 to B-1 for the property located north of Higgins Road in accordance with the recent public hearing. It was seconded by Jack Denny and the vote was unanimous. Mrs. Cummins moved that we approve and accept the plat of dedication of the / public street, Turner Avenue, between Arlington Heights Road and Devon Avenue. !/ It was seconded by Jack Denny; vote was unanimous. The Commission will inform the Village Board that they have no objections to the proposed lighting plan for Elk Grove Village Section 15. Extensive discussions were held concerning the R-4 classification in accordance with the Public Hearing held July 27, 1967. Mrs. Cummins moved that we recommend to the Village Trustees the adoption of the R-4 with a special use for the plan unit development in accordance with the Public Hearing held July 27, 1967 and with the following revisions, amendments and exclusions: 1. Exclude shops 2. Exclude height limits 3. Exclude Centex recommendations for changes PLAN COMMISSION MEETING p. 2 October 19, 1967 4. Redefine the requirements for elevators as stated in Section 2, Subject Paragraph H 5. Add to Section 2, Subject Paragraph F "This restriction shall not apply to apartment buildings." The motion was seconded by Gayle Bantner. Mrs. Cummins, Chairman Schwellenbach, Tzlea. Von Schaumburg, Jack Denny voted in favor. W. R. Ballard was opposed. The Chairman notified the Commission of two Public Hearings proposed for November 16, 1967. The first concerned Gottlieb's desire to construct an office building on the southwest corner of Higgins and Nichols. The second hearing would be on the annexation of twenty-six acres in the general area north of Devon and west of State Road. It is proposed the property would be annexed as R-3.
