MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON FEBRUARY 16, 2010
Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building,
901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following
members were present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro DDS, Secretary E. Butch Ehrke, and
Commissioner Michael P. Kontek.
It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the
minutes of January 19, 2010 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense
with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman
Shapiro declared the motion carried.

1. None
NEW BUSINESS °
1. Discussed extension of eligibility lists. Instructed secretary to check with our
iattorney to verify the process required to change Fife & Police Commission rules.
ELIGIBILITY LIST/ HIRING STATUS
1. Police Officer—two vacancies on hold at this time. Twenty-seven names remain
on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on August 1, 2010.
2. Firefighter—no vacancies. Thirty-six names remain on the current eligibility list
scheduled to expire on July 18, 2010.
3. Police Sergeant Eligibility List—Ten names appear on the eligibility list which
will expire on February 4, 2012.
4. Fire Lieutenant List— Eleven names appear on the eligibility list which will expire
on January 6, 2012.

ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro
declared the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
