MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON NOVEMBER 16,2010
Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building,
901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following
members were present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro DDS, Secretary E. Butch Ehrke, and
Commissioner Michael P. Kontek.
It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the
minutes of October 19, 2010 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense
with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman
Shapiro declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES

OLD BUSINESS
None
NEW BUSINESS
1. Reviewed and discussed testing agency promotional materials provided by Village
Manager's Office.
2. 498 applicants registered to take the firefighter written examination which will
take place at Elk Grove High School on Saturday, November 20, 2010.
3. The Firefighters Pension Board requested that the Fire & Police Commission
provide them with copies of medical evaluation reports for newly hired
firefighters. The Fire & Police Commission will issue copy to the Firefighters
Pension Board upon receipt of signed form from new hire authorizing release of

ELIGIBILITY LIST/HIRING STATUS
1. Police Officer—five vacancies on hold at this time. Twenty-seven names remain
on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on February 1, 2011.
2. Firefighter—five vacancies on hold at this time. The eligibility list expired on July
18, 2010; written examination November 20, 2010.
3. Police Sergeant Eligibility List—Ten names appear on the eligibility list which
will expire on February 4, 2012.
4. Fire Lieutenant List—Ten names appear on the eligibility list which will expire on
January 6, 2012.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro
declared the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:35 p.m.
