Approval of Minutes
Minutes for 2-20- 2018 - The minutes were approved
Invoices for Approval
None.
Correspondence
Correspondence from the Police Department regarding a background applicant withdrawal.
Correspondence from Chief Walsh regarding the suspension of an officer due to violating the
rules and regulations of the Police Department.
Correspondence from Chief Walsh regarding the 6 Month evaluations of 5 police officers.
Correspondence from Chief Mikel regarding the 6 month evaluations of 1 Firefighter
Old Business
1.Update on Fire Department Vacancy – The Fire Department hired 1 Firefighter and no
longer have vacancies. The Fire Fighter will be sworn in at the April 24 Village Board
Meeting.
2.Update on the Police Promotional Process – The police will have an Orientation session on
March 28th at 9:00am and 9:00 pm.
3.Update on Police Department Vacancy – The police have 6 openings. The Police will be
looking to fill the positions for the next academy beginning Jun 25th, 2017.
4.Finalization of new Agreement with Stanard and Associates – The commissioners requested
clarification on two aspects of the agreement. The commission will bring in Stanard and
Associates to explain the process at a future meeting.
New Business
1.6 Month Reviews for 5 Police Officers– The commission held 6 month reviews for 3 of the
5 officers. Two of the officers resigned prior to reviews. All the reviews were positive; the
officers will come in again on 9/18/2017 for their final review.
2.6 Month Reviews for 1 Firefighter – The reviews for the firefighter were positive. The
firefighter will have his final review with the commission at 11months instead of 12, due to
his anniversary date and final review being the same day.
Eligibility List
1.Firefighter Eligibility List will expire on 09/15/2019.
2.Fire Lieutenant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 02/27/2020.
3.Police Officer Eligibility list Expires 02/21/2019
4.Police Sergeant Eligibility list scheduled to expire on 07/07/2018.
