MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF FRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON MAX 10, 2011
Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Charles J, Zettek Building,
901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following
members were present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro DDS, Secretary E. Butch Ehrke, and
Commissioner Michael P. Kontek.
It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the
minutes of April 28, 2011 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with
the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman
Shapiro declared the motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS
1. Discussed police officer testing process and vendors. Met with Stanard and
Associates to discuss their testing products and pricing.
ELIGIBILITY LIST/HIRING STATUS

1. Police Officer—six vacancies on hold at this time. Twenty-seven names remain
on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on August 1, 2011.
2. Firefighter—twelve vacancies. Processing candidates from eligibility list which
will expire on January 7, 2013.
3. Police Sergeant Eligibility List—Ten names appear on the eligibility list which
will expire on February 4, 2011
4. Fire Lieutenant List—Ten names appear on the eligibility list which will expire on
January 6, 2012.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro
declared the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
