MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON APRIL 28, 2011
Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building,
901 We Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following
members were present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro DDS, Secretary E. Butch Ehrke, and
Commissioner Michael P. Kontek.
It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the
minutes of March 29, 2011 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense
with the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman
Shapiro,declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
1. Theodore Polygraph Service, Invoice 2805 dated 4/18/2011 in the amount of
$1'080.00 for polygraph evaluations for eight (8) firefighter candidates.
2. PsychCare Associates invoices (11) dated 4/4/2011 through 4/13/2011 for
psychological evaluations for eleven(11) firefighter candidates.
It was moved by Secretary Ehrke and seconded by Commissioner Kontek that the Board
authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation
whereupon the-Secretary declared the motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Notice of Meeting Change—April 19, 2011 regular meeting of the Fire & Police
Commission rescheduled to April 28, 2011.
2. Notice of Meeting Change—May 17, 2011 regular meeting of the Fire & Police
Commission rescheduled to May 10, 2011.
3. Notice of Retirement of Police Officer Warren Moody effective Monday, May 2,
20111.
4. Letter'from Mayor Craig Johnson to the Honorable John J. Millner stating Elk Grove
Village's opposition to HB 1576.

NEW BUSINESS
1. Discussed police officer testing process and vendors.
ELIGIBILITY LIST /HIRING STATUS
1. Police Officer—six vacancies on hold at this time. Twenty-seven names remain
on the current eligibility list scheduled to expire on August 1, 2011.
2. Firefighter—twelve vacancies. Processing candidates from eligibility list which
will expire on January 7, 2013.
3. Police Sergeant Eligibility List—Ten names appear on the eligibility list which
will expire on February 4, 2012.
4. Fire Lieutenant List—Ten names appear on the eligibility list which will expire on
January 6, 2012.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Commissioner Kontek that the meeting
be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro
declared the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
