Sammarco, Director of Public Works Dave Preissig, Deputy Director of Infrastructure Scott Bernholdt, Deputy Director of Operations Chairman Petri called the meeting to order. MFT Street Maintenance Proaram—2012 The Committee reviewed the November 2, 2011 memorandum outlining the proposed street maintenance program which includes the resurfacing of 5.2 miles of residential streets and the concrete patching of 0.8 miles in the Business Park. The program also includes the rehabilitation of curb, sidewalk and handicap curb ramps. The 2012 MFT program cost is estimated at$1,075,000. The Committee unanimously recommended the implementation of the proposed program. The Street Maintenance Program as well as the Private Participation Concrete Replacement Program would be bid in late January 2012. Well 13 Abandonment Well 13 is the Village's only remaining shallow well and is currently not operational due to deterioration of the discharge piping. There are several repairs to the discharge piping that would be required to return it to service. In addition, the building will require rehabilitation in the near future. The cost for these repairs was not considered justified. Well 11, a deep well, located on Virginia Drive produces sufficient capacity to meet the water demands of the western portion of the community in an emergency event. Therefore, it was recommended that Well 13 be abandoned. The Committee unanimously recommended the abandonment of Well 13. Public Works will evaluate options of the use of the well site property following abandonment of the well.
