STORAGE SIZED HEIGHT
Chairman Lissner called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The Committee met to discuss the
allowable height of storage sheds. Mr. Trudan provided .a brief historical overview of shed
regulations. Currently, the allowable height for sheds is fifteen feet (15'). The Committee
discussed a memorandum prepared by Mr. Trudan regarding a storage shed survey of other
communities.
Mr. Kaplan met with staff from four neighboring communities and provided copies of shed
regulations from these communities. Mr. Kaplan advised the committee that these neighboring
communities were also experiencing similar problems with shed regulations.
Trustee Prochno. noted that the standard commercially sold sheds and shed kits would be
permissible with a new regulatory height of twelve feet(12').
It was observed that the trend was to allow smaller sheds and the committee did not recognize a
need for sheds with a height of fifteen feet (15'). It was the consensus of the committee that the
storage shed regulations be changed to a maximum height of twelve feet(12').
The meeting adjourned at 7:40 P.M.
