Emerald Ash Borer Grant
The Committee was advised of a $15,000 grant received by the Village from the Illinois
Department of Natural Resources for fighting the Emerald Ash Borer. Due to the summer
drought, Public Works will remove dead Ash trees on public rights of way as soon as possible
rather than the systematic approach utilized during the spring and summer. The consensus of the
Committee was to publish information in the next Villager newsletter informing residents how to
identify Ash trees on private property.
2013 Village Board Meeting Dates
The Committee reviewed the proposed Village Board meeting dates for 2013. The consensus of
the Committee was to approve the meeting dates and times with the exception of 5:00 p.m. starts
on April 9 and July 16.
Shed Height Requirements
The Committee was advised of a recommendation by the JPZ Committee on September 27 to
reduce the shed height requirements from fifteen feet (15') to twelve feet (12'). The Committee
noted that comparable communities have shed heights that vary between ten feet (10') and fifteen
feet (15'). The consensus of the Committee was to direct the Village Attorney to bring a text
amendment before the Plan Commission to change the shed height requirements from fifteen feet
(15') to twelve feet (12').
Meeting adjourned at 6:56 p.m.
