Chairman Petri called the meeting to order.
MFT STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM—2013
The Committee reviewed the proposed street maintenance program which includes the
resurfacing of 5.0 miles of streets and the rehabilitation of curb, sidewalk and handicap curb
ramps. The 2013 MFT program shown in the attached exhibits has an estimated construction
cost of$l,l 11,000. To date the Village has received three MFT supplemental payments of
approximately $450,000 from the State. One final payment in the amount of$150,000 is
anticipated in 2013. The MFT fund balance as of April 30, 2013 is estimated to be
$1,500,000.
The Committee recommended the implementation of the proposed program. The Street
Maintenance Program is targeted for a contract letting in late February 2013.
BIESTERFIELD ROAD REHABILIATION
Proposed improvements to Biesterfield Road between Arlington Heights Road and Martha
Street were also discussed. The roadway will be resurfaced, and the curb and sidewalk will
be rehabilitated. The estimated construction cost for the improvement is $1,100.000. The
project will be funded through the Capital Projects fund.
LED STREET NAME SIGNS
The ICRC program includes the installation of illuminated street name signs along arterial
routes. Trustee Petri recommended that LED street name signs be installed along Biesterfield
Road during the 2013 construction season.
