A) Consideration to obtain liability insurance for the Fire
and Police Pension Boards at an annual premium of $3,326.
(A report from the Director of Finance, recommending
approval , is attached for your reference. )
B) Consideration of a request from the Children 's Advocacy
Center of Northwest Cook County, 2121 Lake Street, Hanover
Park, Illinois, for a donation in the amount of $2,500.
(This item was discussed at the 10-2-91 Committee of
the Whole meeting. A report from the Chief of Police,
recommending approval, was distributed previously. )
C) Consideration to concur with the Village Manager's
authorization for Police Officer Gary A. Rosko to attend
basic recruit training at the Chicago Police Academy from
October 15, 1991 to January 15, 1992, in the amount of
$2, 608.
D) Consideration to authorize Staff to proceed with the
sealing of the granite floor in the Atrium.
(A memo was previously distributed to the Village
Board on October 10 recommending that the granite be sealed
to make it impervious to stains . )

E) Consideration to increase the professional services
contract to Donohue & Associates, Inc. by $4, 100 in order
to correct and update maps to be used for the digital base
and s.tormwater system map.
(A professional services contract was awarded to
Donohue & Associates in May at a cost not to exceed
$32,500. The information provided by the Village to
Donohue in order to prepare the digital base and storm
water system map requires updating and corrections. The
contract increase is a. negotiated extra.

recommending the increase, is attached for your reference.-)
F) Consideration of the following:
To award a purchase contract to RT Associates,
Hoffman Estates, in the amount of $2, 870 plus $60/hour
alterations, for typesetting, layout, design, and final '
film production for the 35th Anniversary brochure; and
To award a purchase contract to Carlith Printing,
Elk Grove Village, in the amount of $8, 075 for 16,500
brochures.
(A report from the Purchasing Agent is attached for
your reference.
(Funds for the typesetting and printing are budgeted
and available for the 35th Anniversary brochure. )
G) ' Consideration to award a purchase contract to the lowest
responsible and responsive bidder, Chas. K1ehm & Son
Nursery, South Barrington, Illinois, in the amount of
$29, 100, to provide and plant 150 parkway trees.
(Recommendations from the Purchasing Agent and
Director of Public Wor`•ks are attached.
(Funds are available in the Public Works Budget for
this purchase. )
H) Consideration of the following.:
To award a purchase contract to the lowest responsive;.
and responsible bidder, Shore Galleries, Inc. , Lincolnwooa,
Illinois, in the amount of $49,505 (including trade-in)
from the Asset Seizure Fund for 101 semi-automatic pistols
and 202 magazines; and
To award a purchase contract to the lowest responsive
and responsible bidder, Kiesler Police Supply, Jefferson,
Indiana, in the amount of $6, 125 . 24 from the Asset Seizure
Fund for 101 pistol holders and 105 magazine pouches .

for the purchase. )
I) Consideration to award a purchase contract to
International Salt Company, Clarks Summit, PA, for rock
salt at their bid price of $22 . 42 per ton for 3,200 tons,
for a total of $71 , 744 .
(The State of Illinois received and opened bids for
the purchase of rock salt . The Village will enter into a
joint purchase agreement with the State in order to receive
the International Salt Company bid price of $22 . 42 per ton .
(The Village is required to accept 70 percent of the
amount ordered (2,240 tons costing $50,220. 80) . If the
Village needs addditional rock salt, International Salt
Company is required to deliver up to 120 percent of the
amount ordered at the contract price.

J) Consideration to award a purchase contract to the' lowest
(and only) responsive and responsible bidder, J. S.
Riemer, Inc. , Dundee, Illinois, at the following unit
costs, including an 8-hour minimum; for an estimated
expenditure of $24 ,000 for snow and ice control fo- the
1991-92 season:

K) Consideration of the following:
To waive the first reading of an ordinance; and
To adopt ORDINANCE NO. 2192 (attached) , reducing the ,
monthly charge for the Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone
System, effective January 1 , 1992 .
(This ordinance reduces the monthly charge from $0. 75
to $0. 30. This reduction is now possible since the ini-tial
start-up and equipment expenses have been covered and a
projection of funds needed in 1992-93 for normal operation
and maintenance purposes can be met with a $0. 30 per month
surcharge on telephone bills.
(By a unanimous vote of the seven (7) member Board of
Directors on October 3, 1.991 , it is recommended that each
of the six (6) participating municipalities adopt the
ordinance reducing the monthly charge effective January 1 ,
1992 . )

7. Consideration to accept a donation from National Technology,
Inc. , 130 Martin Lane, in the amount of $5, 000.
(Roger Patel, President of National Technology, wishes to
contribute $5,000 toward the purchase of equipment for the Fire
Department .

Fire Chief , are attached for your reference. )

6 . CONSENT AGENDA
L) Consideration of the following:
- To award a purchase contract to the
lowest responsible and responsive bidders,
Midwest Fence Company, in the amount of $5,205
from the CapitalProjects Fund for the
installation of guardrail on Biesterfield Road at
Rohlwing Road; and
- To award a purchase contract to Aldridge
Electric in an amount not to exceed $5 , 000 for
traffic signal work which may be necessary for
the installation of the guardrail .
(Existing underground traffic signal conduit
and cable are located in very close proximity of
where the guardrail is to be installed. Aldridge
Electric maintains the State' s facilities at the
intersection. The purchase contract with
Aldridge will be paid on a time and material
basis , if its services are needed, and only
with the approval of the Director of Engineering
and Community Development . Aldridge is the
lowest bid contractor for the State ' s maintenance
contract .
