A) Consideration to concur with the Village Manager' s
authorization ( in order to meet the registration deadline)
for Police Officer Edward J. Thomas to attend the Chicago
Police Department Basic Recruit Training in Chicago,
Illinois , from July 22 to October 18, 1991 , at a cost not
to. exceed $2, 608 .
(Funds are included in the FY 1991-92 Budget for this
training. )
B) Consideration to authorize the Plan Commission to hold a
public hearing on a petition to rezone the North Grove
Shopping Center from B-1 to B-3 .
(The Shopping Center is located at the Northwest
intersection of Higgins and Bond.
(The petitioner is requesting the rezoning in order
to attract businesses into the Center which presently has
three vacancies out of seven stores .
(A public hearing date has yet to be established. )
C) Consideration to award a contract to the lowest re'..ponsive
and responsible bidder, A-1 Roofing Company, Elk Grove
Village, to remove and replace roofing at the Landmeier and
Biesterfield Fire Stations at a cost not to exceed $30, 554 .
(Sufficient funds were included in the FY 1991-92
Budget for this purpose.
(Reports from the Fire Chief and Purchasing Agent,
recommending approval, are attached. )

D) Consideration of the following:
To waive the formal bidding process ; and
To award a professional service. contract to Northwest
Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, Illinois , in an
amount not to exceed $5 , 880 for an "in-station"
required paramedic training program.
(The training includes medical instructors
coming to Village fire stations on a regular basis .
The program is only offered through the Northwest
Community Hospital EMS System, of which the Village is
a part.
( Funds were included in the FY 1991-92 Budget
for this purpose .
(Reports from the Fire Chief and Purchasing
Agent, recommending approval , are attached. )
E) Consideration of the following:
To waive the formal bidding process; and
To award .a single-source purchase contract to
Motorola, Inc . , Schaumburg, in an amocnt not to exceed
$12 , 272 for a base station and seven ( 7) portable
radios for use by the Fire Department .
(The Fire Department is standardized with
Motorola equipment and Motorola is the sole supplier
of radio equipment for use with the computer-aided
dispatch system.
(Recommendations from the Fire Chief and
Purchasing Agent are attached for your reference. )
F) Consideration of the following:
- To award a purchase contract to American Office
Equipment Company, Inc . , Rolling Meadows , Illinois ,
for a Sharp 8350 copy machine in an amcunt not to
exceed $4 ,500 .
(This unit will be replacing .an older Xerox unit
at the Biesterfield Fire Station that has been
experiencing numerous breakdowns .
(Purchase will be made through the State
bid. Funds are available in the FY 1991-92 Budget for
this purchase .

G) Consideration of the following:
- To waive the formal bidding process ; and
To award a purchase contract to Uarco, Inc . ,
Barrington, Illinois, to furnish and deliver 75, 000
custom continuous water bills in the amount of
$5, 053 .50 .
(Uarco has manufactured Village water bills
since 1987 . Last year, the Village bid this item.
Uarco ' s price was 31 . 5% lower than all known
competitive vendors . The cost for this year' s water
bills is the same as Uarco ' s bid last, year.
(Adequate funds are budgeted and available .
(A report from the Purchasing Agent,
recommending approval , is attached. )
H) Consideration to award a purchase contract to the lowest
responsive and responsible bidder, International Business
Interiors , Inc . , Des Plaines , Illinois , to furnish,
deliver, and install various office furniture in the amount
not to exceed $9, 993 . 88 .
(The furniture to be purchased is comprised of file
cabinets and desks budgeted for purchase by the Fire
Department, Police Department, and Ccmmunity Service.
(Adequate funds are budgeted and available for these
purchases . The Fire Department will: transfer $113 . 68 to
cover the cost of a file cabinet .
