6. CONSENT AGENDA (continued)
P) Consideration to award a professional service contract
to Thompson Elevator Inspection Service, Inc. , Mt .
Prospect, IL to perform elevator inspection services on
a per inspection basis for a total amount not to exceed
$8,500.
(Estimates were received from two elevator
inspection service firms. Both firms responded with
identical proposals with the exception that Thompson
Elevator 's reinspection fees are $7 more on a per
inspection basis ($32) . Both firms responded with a new
inspection fee of $50. All costs related to the
inspections are reimbursed to the Village.
(This contract should have been executed May 1 ,
1993 for the term May 1 , 1993 to April 30, 1994 .
Approval of this item will make the contract retroactive
to May 1 , 1993 .
(Thompson Elevator has provided exceptional levels
of service to the Village in previous years. Thompson
is knowledgeable of the Village elevator codes and
expectations. in addition, Thompson, provides unlimited
free consultation to the Village.
(Sufficient funds are budgeted and available for
this expenditure.
(A report from the Purchasing Agent recommending
approval is attached. )
Q) Consideration to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 74-93 (attached)
to postpone acceptance of Continental Cablevision of
Northern Cook County 's basic tier cable rates (FCC Form
393) and appoint the Continental Regional Cable Group as
the hearing body for the Village of Elk Grove Village.
(The resolution complies with the 30-day time
frame to either review Continental 's basic tier rate
justifications (Form 393) or postpone the review and
hold a public hearing. In addition the resolution
authorizes and appoints the Continental Regional Cable
Group as the hearing body for Elk Grove for both basic
service review and franchise renewal . A public hearing
date of January 13 is scheduled to review the basic
service rates. This will comply with the 90-day
postponement period.

R) Consideration to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 75-93 (attached)
regarding the proposed refunding of outstanding general
obligation bonds of the Village of Elk Grove Village.
(The resolution provides for a minimum savings of
$200,000 by refunding outstanding general obligation
bonds. The resolution identifies the same financial
advisor, bond counsel and underwriter as retained for
the previous refundings.
