Number of pages attached: 1 Date(s) of review for release: October 2011 Date of approval for release: • w March 8, 2011 • 4:46 p.m. Personnel The Village Manager noted that the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides treatment for alcohol and other drug addictions, while also providing counseling for individuals suffering from depression or going through personal or financial distress (divorce, foreclosure, death in family). The item was brought up by the Fire Union due to a concern for a member. Human Resources is looking at several programs and is putting together a recommendation that will go before the Personnel Committee. The current EAP is run through the health insurance program and covers drug and alcohol abuse along with psychiatric problems. The new program would rely on more preventative measures through counselors. Staff is putting together a memo to discuss different options. The meeting was adjourned at 4:48 p.m. • •
