HomeMy WebLinkAboutPOLICE PENSION - 07/16/2013 - POLICE PENSION MINUTES Minutes of the July 16, 2013 Elk Grove Village Police Pension Board meeting. The meeting was called to order at 3:35 p.m. by President Ambrose. Present were Greenberg, Partin, Moody, Torres, Tromp, and Financial Advisor Tomanek. The minutes of the last meeting, April 16, 2013 were read. A motion was made by Moody, seconded by Torres, to approve the minutes. Unanimous. Tromp presented the Treasurer's Report, which-included balance sheets dated April 30, 2013 and May 31, 2013, and disbursement registers. A motion was made by Parrin, seconded by Moody to approve the Treasurer's Report. Unanimous. Old Business Tomanek presented an updated report on the status of the Fund's investments. No changes were recommended. Torres provided a list of training courses he completed to comply with the required Trustee training requirement. (See attached list) Tromp received three requests for proposals from financial consultants as required under Public Act 95-950. These three are Mitchell, Vaught, and Taylor; Marquette Associates; and Graystone Consulting. Tromp indicated she will receive the proposals from each firm on July 18, 2013: Ambrose and Torres indicated they will try to be present for the presentations. New Business Ambrose indicated he was reappointed to the Board for another 2 year term, May 01, 2013 through April 30, 2015. The Coalition for Qualified Plan Status wrote the Board a letter requesting a $300.00 donation. The organization provides Article 3 and 4 Pension Funds legal and accounting compliance work for the IRS qualified plan determination requirements. The contribution will be used for the 2014-2019 cycle. A motion was made by Parrin, seconded by Torres, to make this contribution. Unanimous. The Board received a bill from attorney Reimer for $87.50 for March legal fees. A motion was made by Partin, seconded by Torres to pay this bill. Unanimous. Moody completed his required 32 hour new Trustee Training. Officer Brandi Forgue resigned but has not yet submitted a request for a refund of contributions. Greenberg indicated disabled member Celia is due soon for an annual evaluation, and will contact attorney Reimer to schedule his appointment. (continued) (July 16, 2013 continued) The Board received a letter from the Fire and Police Commission indicating Officer Justin Wedekind and Officer Anthony Mazzuca have successfully completed their probationary period and are appointed the permanent position of police officer effective Jute 22, 2013. ,o�s Ambrose declared the next Board meeting will be October 22, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at 901 Wellington.
