6. CONSENT AGENDA
a. Consideration to allow At The Post located at 554-B East Devon Avenue to host a
temporary one-day outdoor Kentucky Derby event from 10:00 a.m, to 10:00 p.m. on
Saturday, May 3, 2014.
(At The Post, 554-B East Devon Avenue, has made a request to host an outdoor
Kentucky Derby event on Saturday, May 3, 2014..
(Logistics of the event have been reviewed by Village Staff and no problems are
anticipated to zoning requirements for this event.
(A report from the Director of Community Development, recommending approval, is
attached.)
b. Consideration of a request from the Elk Grove Park District to waive engineering
permit fees for the resurfacing of the asphalt parking lot at the Hattendorf Center,
located at 225 Elk Grove Boulevard, in the amount of$3,677.
(It has been past practice of the Village Board to grant fee waivers far governmental
and non-profit organizations.
(A report from the Director of Community Development, recommending approval, is
attached.)

c. Consideration of the following:
• to award a professional services contract to Gallagher-Bassett for the
administration of the Village's Self-Insured Liability Plan in an amount not to
exceed $42,008; and
• to approve the Liability Insurance Premiums for FY 2014-15,submitted by Arthur

(The contract with Gallagher-Bassett Fluctuates based on the amount of claims over a
three year period.
(This year's total premium renewal represents an increase of$30,182 or 5.5%.
(High Excess Liability Pool (HELP) provides excess liability coverage in the amount of
$10 million in excess of our underlying$2 million coverage.
(Adequate funds are budgeted and available for this purpose.
(A report from the Director of Finance, recommending approval, is attached.)
d. Consideration to award a professional services contract to Ayers Associates Inc. of
Madison, WI for planimetric mapping updates as part of the GIS Consortium
purchasing agreement in an amount not to exceed $40,690 from the Water/Sewer
Fund.
(Elk Grove Village has been a member of the GIS Consortium since 2008.
(The GIS Consortium (GISC) is a group of local communities that have worked
together to develop a cost-effective solution for implementing geographic
information systems (GIS) and related technologies.

(One of those cost-effective solutions is to purchase aerial photography/mapping in
bulk through the Consortium's 23 municipalities.
(The GIS Consortium Board of Directors appointed a Base Mapping Committee to
initiate a selection process for a photogrammetric mapping consultant, and Ayers
Associates was the selected vendor.
(As part of the pricing agreement, Ayers uses economies of scale to provide their
services at a reduced price.
(As part of this fiscal year's mapping program,Ayers will be performing planimetric
imagery updates within the Elk Grove Village community.
(A report from the Deputy Village Manager, recommending approval, is attached.)
e. Consideration to award a professional services contract to Peters &Associates of Oak
Brook Terrace, IL for advanced technical support of the Village's computer networks
for the period of May 1, 2014 through April 30, 2015 in an amount not to exceed
$89,280.
(The requested amount would provide one day per week of supplemental Network
Engineer support and two days per quarter of Network Architect support during
FY 2015.
(Peters &Associates has provided high-quality implementation and support services
to the Village for over 6 years.
(As in the past, the requested support will only be used and billed on an as-needed
basis.
(A report from the Director of Information Technology, recommending approval, is
attached.)
E Consideration of a request to renew a professional services contract to Powell Tree
Care, Inc. of Elk Grove Village, IL for the 2014 Parkway Tree Maintenance Program in
the amount of$99,850.85 from the General Fund.
(This contract was competitively bid in 2012.
(The contract provided for an option of four (4) additional renewals through April 30,
2016.
(Powell Tree Care, Inc. has satisfactorily completed tree trimming and tree removal
services under this contract and also holds the contract for the Village's EAB tree
removal services.
(The contract period is from May 1, 2014 through April 30, 2015.
(The contract amount reflects a 0.5% increase in the Consumer Price Index.

Public Library,which results in a total Village and Library expenditure of
$115,705,294.
