Blue Ribbon Committee: Given by Nancy Czarnik
The committee met for the first time this week for a brainstorming
session. The idea of a contest to develop the logo/theme
of the 40th or Ruby anniversary extravaganza, open to students
in 6th thru 12th grades and adults 18 and over, will be
• presented to the Village Board. This anniversary logo could
then be incorporated in areas such as the vehicle stickers .
The actual anniversary date is July 17 , 1996 . A weeklong
celebration is envisioned, with the current on-going events
being incorporated for the entire year. Banners to hang
outside on the village street posts is planned. The banners
could then be given away to residents as souvenirs .
Perhaps a nursery such as Klehms might develop of Red Peony
to commemorate the 40th ruby anniversary.
A parade would be planned on the weekend before or after
July 17 , 1996 .
