MEETING MINUTES

Call to order:
The meeting was called to order by Anne Feichter at 7 : 05 p.m.
A motion to approve the minutes was made by Alva and seconded by
Jim. Two corrections were made to the September minutes . Under
IRW 40th Anniversary it should read. . . " working toward his eagle
scout. . . " and under New Business it should read. . . "approximately
25 members . . . " The motion was carried.
Coordinator' s Report : Given by Sandra Costanza
Sandy reported on several upcoming events .
- Alexian Brothers Medical Center Senior Care Office will be
celebrating its one year birthday on November 8th from 1 - 3 p.m.
- The Adopt-A-Family Programs are being planned. We need
volunteers to help with distributing the baskets on November 21st
and December 20th. Alva, Peg, Laura and Bonnie volunteered.
- This year' s Happy Memories Party will be on December 9th at the
Pavilion from 12 - 4 p.m. Volunteers are needed to serve food,
crowd control, etc .
- Sandy will set up a training session for the Community Service
Board on disaster relief some time early next year. The Fire
Department and Red Cross have indicated they can conduct this
training.
- The transportation directory is finished. A copy is available
for anyone' s viewing pleasure.

Substance Abuse Prevention: Given by Alva Kreutzer
Alva reported 11 schools plus the Village will be taking part in
the national drug awareness campaign Red Ribbon. Two new schools
participating are Queen of the Rosary and Rolling Meadows High
School . Alva had a copy of several schools ' activities for the
week. The Fighting Back meeting on September 28th was not much
of a business meeting. A short meeting was followed by a
farewell gathering for its past director Ilene-Berns Zare. She
was with Fighting Back for 5 1/2 years .
Senior Sub-Committee:
The next meeting is November 6th at 10 : 00 a.m.
Intergovernmental :
This committee will not be meeting until February, 1996 .
Make A Difference Day:
Several projects will be done on this day. Alva reminded the
board of their commitment to paint two rooms at the Elk Grove
Township Community Day Care Center.
40th Anniversary: No report.
Budget:
• Sandy asked for volunteers for the Budget Committee. Alva, Anne
and Ken volunteered.
New Business :
PIC Scholarships - Solicitation letters were sent out to
businesses under President Gallitano' s signature. Sandy has 10
residents from last year who are interested. Sandy asked for
volunteers to be on the selection committee.
Jim Foss is looking for volunteers to do gift wrapping for Toys
for Joy at Alexian Brothers Medical Center on November 21st. It
will be in the Brock Building, Auditorium A starting at 7 : 00 a.m.
Jim Arey said he has 53 students this year and looks forward to
any areas which his students could volunteer.
Old Business :
Tom Froelich, the MC at this years parade sustained equipment
damage while setting up. Tom will be sending a letter to Gary
Parrin, Village Manager and Anne Feichter regarding this matter.
Adjournment:
A motion to adjourn was made by Peg, seconded by Ken. The motion
carried. The meeting adjourned at 7 :46 p.m.
