Chairperson Alva Kreutzer
Vice Chair Jim Foss
Secretary Mary Cortes

• programs. The committee plans to send a letter to organizations who have participated to
try to evaluate the effectiveness.
New Business:
Nancy Czarnik read a letter from a 57 year old Elk Grove resident who offered to
volunteer his time and woodworking skills to help needy or elderly residents to need
inside carpentry work. The Board discussed how to handle this so as to eliminate any
legal liability. Beth suggested that this be handled through organizations such as Save
Our Seniors or the Elk Grove Township Daycare Center. Nancy Czarnik and Beth
Madden will meet with the volunteer first and before proceeding further.
Old Business:
The Board brought up for further discussion whether to change the by-laws to reflect a
requirement for 10 Community Service Board Meetings per year, rather than 11 as is
currently in the by-laws. Each member in attendance was asked for comments or
suggestions. The informal consensus of the Board was that 10 meetings would be
acceptable to all, but there was a caution to leave the wording vague as to which month to
drop. This matter will be brought up for a vote at next month's meeting.
