Call to Order:
Alva Kreutzer called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Action Items:
® There were no corrections to the August minutes. The Board unanimously approved the minutes
following a motion by Sal Pace, seconded by Jim Foss.
Agency Presentation:
None.
Chairperson's Report:
A letter of appreciation was received from President Craig Johnson to the Community Service
Board regarding the annual report.
Coordinator's Report:
Report in Board packets. On July 22"', Beth assisted senior residents at the Brentwood Manor
during a heat emergency. Also, the Paint-a-thon is scheduled for Sept. 18!h. So far there is not
an Elk Grove Village house in the project. Hopefully, a house for the program will be found
soon.
Committee Reports:
Elk Grove Community Spirit Award Committee: Given by Mary Hale
No report. A Sept. 15 meeting date is tentatively planned.
Summer Activities Committee: Given by Mary Hale
The committee will meet on July 161h. A handout will be prepared for vendors in order to solicit
for the EGV Farmers Market next year. The Park District will be included in future meetings.
The next meeting of the committee will be scheduled in September.
Volunteer Committee:
No report. The next meeting is scheduled for Sept.16th at 6:15 p.m.

New Business:
Make a Difference Day: Given by Beth Madden
The day of the event is Oct. 23`d this year. PADS is wanting to continue the PADS Walk
tradition. The Community Service Office/Board will arrange for the wish list project again this
year. Also, the community food drive will also take place.
Coordinator's Evaluation:
Alva announced that it is time for the Board to complete the Coordinator's evaluation. Copies
were in the packet and should be turned into her or the office by Sept. 30th.
Old Business:
None.
Trustee Liaison Report:
Nancy Czarnik reported the Parade Committee is looking at the possibility of having a night
parade. Also, the Village is planning a millennium party for Feb. 5, 2000 and other activities will
take place throughout the year.
Community Service Board Member Reports:
Alva reported that she and Tony Kees met to discuss the Board's function and activities.
Mary Cortes announced that she has resigned her position as police social worker effective
September 10`h. Consequently, she will be resigning from the Board. She will be a director of a
university student health and counseling center.
Announcements:
The next meeting of the Community Service Board will be Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999 at 7:00 p.m.

The meeting adjourned after a motion by Anne Feichter, seconded by Jim Foss.
