MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order:
Jim Foss called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Action Items:
The minutes were approved after a motion by Alva Kreutzer and a second by Sal Pace.
Chairperson's Report:
Jim Foss announced that Hamilton Partners had agreed to underwrite in the amount of
$800 the cost for the Elk Grove Theater to offer a"free showing"once a week for six
weeks beginning next summer on a weekday morning. The film would be geared to
children and families.
Coordinator's Report:
No Report
Committee Reports:
Elk Grove Community Spirit Award Committee:
Given by Mary Hale
No Report as there have not been any meetings over the summer.
Summer Activities Committee:
Given by Mary Hale
No Report. There was a discussion on the Farmers' Market. Signage has been added to
improve visibility. One of the vendors has dropped out because of lack of business.
However, others remain and say the Market takes time to catch on. It was suggested that
the Market start an hour earlier at 7:00 am, as the vendors are already there and ready and
the earlier time would allow more people to stop by before work.
Volunteer Committee
Given by Anne Feichter
No Report. Anne Feichter asked for volunteers to join the committee. Pet Vallillo and
Dick Scholten offered to help. A meeting will be scheduled in September.
Newcomers Committee
The newly formed committee has not met yet.
New Business:
.Beverly Jaszczurowski was introduced to the Board as the new Community Service
Coordinator. She gave the Board information on her background and work experience.
This was only her fourth day in this position.
Nancy Czarnik told the Board that two applications have been received for the open
positions on the Community Service Board. Craig Johnson, Village President, must
appoint new Board members..
Old Business:
Boy Scout Dan Urban who had written the Board about a project for earning the rank of
Eagle Scout had a suggested project of storm drain stenciling. The project would have to
be approved by the Village Board and insurance and liability issues would be considered.
® Trustee Liason Report:
Nancy Czarnik announced that tickets for the Sister City Dinner Dance Fundraiser would
be $60 per person. The event will be held on Friday evening, October 13, 2000 at the
Avalon Banquets and includes open bar, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, entertainment, and
dancing.
Board Reports:
Alva Kreutzer reported to the Board that the Duck Race, held in August, was a success
and will be held again next year.
Announcements:
The next Community Service Board meeting will be at 7:00 pm on September 21, 2000.
Mary Hale also announced that PADS would appreciate any help from Board members or
other volunteers with their Walk in conjunction with Make a Difference Day in October.

A motion for adjournment was made by Alva Kreutzer and seconded by Nancy Czarnik.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
