Beverly's full report is included in the packet. Since September 11 Beverly has received many calls
from residents asking what they can do to help, or what they can donate. The blood drive at Alexian
Brothers Hospital produced freezers full of blood. Beverly is appearing on Channel 6 with Desmond
Raftery during October, speaking about Domestic Violence Awareness month and the events
scheduled for October 17 and October 27 in Elk Grove Village. A food drive is planned for the end
of October.
Committee Reports:
Farmer's Market: Given by Tony Kees
October 24 is the last day for the Farmer's Market this year. Village Trolley will be providing free

No new business. They will meet with Assistant Village Manager Ray Rummel soon.

Saturday, October 27 is the date for the Walk for WINGS. A brochure has been prepared, including
a waiver of liability for the village. Volunteers are needed for the walk, to assist with registration or
assist along the route, keeping the walkers on the sidewalks along the path. Several Board members
volunteered to assist on October 27.
New Business:
Fred Hossfeld proposed the idea of preparing care packages for the troops. There was discussion
about the idea. It was agreed that more investigation is required before this can be considered as a
project for the Board.
Old Business:
Beverly reported that the Board retreat would have to be funded from the Community Service
budget, per Village Manager Gary Parrin. She is now attempting to arrange for a facilitator who
would assist the Board with setting goals and priorities free of charge. Des might be able to arrange
the services of a professional facilitator for the first hour of the retreat, to initiate the process.
Trustee Report:
No report.
Board Members Report:
Des is arranging a meeting on Wednesday, October 17 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Municipal
