Call to Order:
Jim Foss, president, called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.
Action Items:
The minutes from the February 21, 2002 meeting were approved after a motion by Nancy
Czarnik and a second by Jim Morrill.
Coordinator's Report:
No report. In Beverly's absence, the full report, included in the packet, was submitted by
Marty Vela.
Committee Reports:
Volunteer Committee: Given by Anne Feichter
No report.
Community Spirit Committee: Given by Jim Morrill
The committee met on March 7 and continued to discuss the youth spirit award. The
committee is interested in getting more members. Jim Morrill will review applications for
committee membership and present his recommendation to the Community Service Board
for their approval.

New Business:
Teresa Anesinis reported the Farmers Market committee met on March 11. Special theme
days are scheduled for June 12 / Coloring Day, June 26/ Chamber of Commerce, July 10/
Arts Center, July 24 / Library, August 7 / Service Club, August 21 /Music Day,
September 4 / Cooking Demonstration, September 18 /Senior Day. The next committee
meeting is scheduled for April 8.
Old Business:
The 2002 Volunteer Recognition Award recipients are Margaret Browning and Sherri
Hynes. They will each receive their award at the village dinner on April 26. The Senior
Medal of Honor will be awarded to William Healy on April 17. Nancy Czarnik will attend
the award ceremony in Chicago at the Cultural Center.
Trustee Report: Given by Nancy Czarnik
Arrangements have been completed for distribution of 15 Easter baskets. A local church
has adopted 10 of these 15 families. An increased number of families are seeking
assistance at the food pantry.
Board Members Report:
Des Raftery will continue arrangements for Spanish programming on Channel 6, after the
current issues concerning Channel 6 have been resolved.
Jim Foss and Peg Vallillo reported the movie theater program, providing movies one day a
week at a reduced price, will be provided again this summer.
Teresa Anesinis, Nancy Czarnik, Mary Hale and Jim Morrill will be attending the Citizen's
Police Academy for ten weeks on Thursday evenings. The April and May meetings of the
Corntnunity Service Board were rescheduled to Wednesdays.
Announcement:
The next Community Service Board meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April
17, 2002 in Conference Room A in the Lower Level of the Municipal Building (Village
Hall).
Adjournment:
A motion for adjournment was made by Nancy Czarnik and seconded by Mary Hale and
Jim Morrill. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
