MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order:
Mary Hale, president, called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.
Action Items•

The minutes from the February and March meetings were approved after a motion by Jim Foss
and a second by Jim Morrill.
Special Note:
Community Service Board officers for 2003 /2004 are Jim Morrill, President; Anne Feichter,
Vice President; and Teresa Anesinis, Secretary. Mary Hale submitted her resignation from the
Community Service Board.
Coordinator's Report: Given by Linda Blair
Helen Moisan and William Shannon will be recognized as Volunteers of the Year at the Village
Awards Dinner on April 25, 2003. The Interfaith Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by the Interfaith
Council, will be May 1, 2003 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Admission price is $10.00.
The Elk Grove Village Food Pantry was nominated for the Caring Hearts Award.
Committee Reports:
Community Spirit Committee: Given by Jim Morrill
Three more nominations were approved at the meeting on April 16. Committee members are
considering presenting future Spirit Awards at Village Board meetings. Arrangements will be
made to recognize youths nominated for the Spirit Award during the past year. Jim Arey will be
working with the youth program in future months.
• Farmer's Market Committee: Given by Teresa Anesinis, Nancy Czamik, Tony Kees
This year the location of the Farmer's Market will be the south parking lot of the Pavilion, across
from the clock tower. Dates for the market will be June 4 through October 8, on Wednesday
mornings from 7:00 a.m, to 1:00 p.m, with theme days on alternate Wednesdays.
New Business:
Community Service Board members continued to review possible activities for 2003.
• Community Garage Sale
• Craft Fair
• Community Fundraiser
• Tuition Scholarship for Park District sports programs
• Community Needs Assessment
• Farmer's Market
Announcement:
The next Community Service Board meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2003 in
Conference Room C in the Lower Level of the Municipal Building (Village Hall).
