Call to Order:
Mike Tuozzo, Vice President, called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.
Action Items:
The minutes from the April 17, 2004 meeting were approved after a motion by Peg
Vallillo and a second by Jim Foss.
Coordinator's Report: Given by Linda Blair
The full report is included in the packet. There will be an increase in the number of
working poor and unemployed who need assistance in Elk Grove and the surrounding
communities. In December 2003, 34 families requested assistance compared to 43
people in April 2004.
The Elk Grove Interfaith Council Prayer Breakfast hosted by Queen of the Rosary on
May 6`h was a success.
The Village Board decreased the Community Service Board membership from 13 to 11 at
the meeting last Tuesday.
New Business:
Make a Difference Day on Saturday, October 23 planning was brought up. The members
agreed to come to the July meeting with more ideas and ways to publicize the event.
Committee Reports:
Sueeestion Box: Given by Mike Tuozzo
Mike read a few comments from the suggestion box. An anonymous person requested
the library to provide a job skills program. Teresa said that they had a session for this at

the library, but it was poorly attended. Several suggestions were made such as setting up
a group for unemployed people to meet. Perhaps there is some kind of program that we
can establish.
Another person made a comment to give the Queen of the Rosary an award for letting the
senior center use their facilities while the center was under construction.
Teresa will be looking into moving the suggestion box in the library closer to the
receptionist.
Linda is going to make a general form letter to send to people who write suggestions in
the box. Mike will continue to monitor and keep a log of all comments submitted to the
Board.
Trustee Liaison Report: Given by Trustee Nancy Czarnik
Nancy reminded people that the Farmer's Market will run from June 9`h through
September 29`h every Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Many vendors from last
year will be attending this successful event.
® Announcements:
The Community Parade is June 19'h, 2004.
Anne Feichter reported that the Garden Club is having an Antique Fair this Saturday from
1:00 ā4:00 p.m. at the Historical Farm House. There will be some gardening seminars
going on.
The next Community Service Board meeting will be on Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 7:00
p.m. in Room"C" at the Village Hall.

p.m.
