Coordinator's Report: Given by Linda Blair Things are running smoothly in the Community Service office. The Channel 6 video has brought people into the office that didn't know about the services provided. Linda received 4 boxes of donated cell phones. New Business: Linda Blair has been having conversations with Mr. Jim Arey, Elk Grove High School and Gail Kulek, Volunteer Coordinator at Alexian Brothers Hospital about youth volunteers involved in Service Learning activities. Linda is modeling this "Multiple Municipalities" program after one that DuPage County runs. Linda would like to make the program for Elk Grove Village and Elk Grove Township residents instead of several Municipalities. This program would be a fall clean-up day or days to help people in need. The work would be done on the two weekends prior to Make a Difference Day. Home Depot is willing to provide services for this program. Perhaps Home Depot employees could work with students to make home repairs for people in need. Home Depot is looking for a small project for 10-15 people. Linda suggested they could paint a residents house that has been cited by the Village or paint the Senior Center. S CSB Minutes Page two Committee Reports: Suggestion Box: Given by Linda Blair Linda read the suggestions submitted by residents. She will continue to monitor them. Old Business: President Morrill brought the bracelets that are going to be sold at the Rotary Fest for $2.00 each or three for$5.00. The cost the Board will pay per bracelet is $1.00 not $.75 cents. The company misquoted the initial price of the bracelets that was reported at the May meeting. Linda has material from WINGS and Community Service. If someone has further questions, then the board member (s) working the booth should refer that person to the appropriate department. Announcements: Mike Tuozzo informed us that the American Cancer Relay for Life event was very successful. Board Members should remember to bring any supplies for the "Kids Kloset" to the next meeting.
