Described below are some of the highlights of his excellent presentation to the Community Service Board. This is not a transcript of the presentation. Criminal offenses are handled by the Youth Division if the age of the victim or the age of the offender is 16 or younger. Theft and criminal damage to property are the top youth crimes in Elk Grove Village. Juvenile court is closed to the general public. There is no permanent record outside of the police station unless the juvenile case goes to court. Community Service or restitution to the victim are two possible outcomes of juvenile cases. Elk Grove Village works with social agencies such as the Bridge, Shelter and the Child Advocacy Center. CSB Minutes Page two The Youth Division monitors sex offenders that live or work in Elk Grove Village. These individuals must register with the Elk Grove Village police. The frequency of this registration depends upon the category of offender. Most individuals appear on the sex offender list for 10 years from the date of conviction. If the offender moves from Elk Grove Village the police department will notify the other community. Coordinator's Report: Given by Linda Blair The full report is included in the packet.
