MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
HELD ON JUNE 18, 2013
Chairman Shapiro called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Charles J. Zettek Building,
901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and noted for the record that the following
members were present: Chairman Alan J. Shapiro DDS, Secretary E. Butch Ehrke,
Commissioner Michael Kontek.
It was moved by Commissioner Kontek and seconded by Commissioner Ehrke that the
minutes of May 21, 2013 meeting be approved as submitted and that the Board dispense with
the reading thereof. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman
Shapiro declared the motion carried.
PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL OF INVOICES
1. Stanard& Associates, Inc., Invoice SA 22923 dated 05/28/2013 in the amount of
$395.00 for psychological evaluation of police officer candidate.
2. Theodore Polygraph Service, Invoice 3715 dated 5/31/2013 in the amount of$135.00
for polygraph evaluation of police officer candidate.
3. Theodore Polygraph Service, Invoice 3718 dated 6/11/2013 in the amount of$135.00
for polygraph evaluation of police officer candidate.
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded by Commissioner Kontek that the
Board authorize the disbursement of funds for payment. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation whereupon the Chairman declared the motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
1. Memo from Chief Schmidt regarding the performance of Probationary Police
Officers Juan Andrade, Daniel Johnson, and Matthew Stencel.
2. Memo from Chief Schmidt regarding the performance of Probationary Police
Officers Justin Wedekind and Anthony Mazzuca.
3. Memo from Chief Mike] regarding the performance of Probationary Firefighter
Jeremy Sullivan.

NEW BUSINESS
1. Fire Lieutenant Promotional Process—Final Eligibility List was posted on May 6,
2013.
ELIGIBULITY LIST/HIRING STATUS
1. Police Officer No names remain on the final eligibility list published on January
16, 2012. Processing candidates through the group interview phase to create a new
final eligibility list. One hundred ninety two names remain on the preliminary
eligibility list scheduled to expire on January 16, 2014.
2. Firefighter—Eligibility list expired on January 7, 2013. Examination date has been
set for August 24, 2013 and registration will commence shortly.
3. Police Sergeant—Four names appear on the eligibility list which will expire on April
20, 2015.
4. Fire Lieutenant—Eight names appear on the eligibility list which will expire on May
6, 2015.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Commissioner Ehrke and seconded Chairman Shapiro that the meeting be
adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon Chairman Shapiro
declared the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
