Restructurine the Industrial Commercial Revitalization Commission (ICRC Trustee Jim Petri, Co -Chairman of the ICRC, stated that the ICRC had been discussing its direction over the past year. The ICRC was originally created 20 years ago and its recommendations have resulted in reinvesting $60 million into the business park and the creation of two long-term plans. While the ICRC has boasted significant accomplishments during its existence, the ICRC made a unanimous decision in November that restructuring was necessary to get more people involved and keep its efforts relevant to the community. Trustee Petri explained that the plan is to change the ICRC into an advisory committee called the Business Leaders Forum, which would be more involved in providing input, feedback and ideas, and move away from reviewing capital budgets prepared by staff. The change to a committee would allow for more people to get involved, including more business owners in the Business Park and others who might not be able to make a long-term commitment for attendance. The Business Leaders Forum would meet 3 times per year, over lunch or breakfast to accommodate working schedules. Current ICRC Commissioners would be invited to stay on as "Legacy Members," and approximately 20 new members would be by invited though the Director of Business Development. Two Trustees would remain liaisons for the Village Board. The Business Leaders Forum would also include representatives from all Village Departments, so that matters could be addressed immediately. -2- The Committee discussed that members of the new advisory committee would not be given the benefits associated with appointed positions. The Committee determined that current ICRC members should be invited to attend one last Village dinner, and an announcement could be made at the event thanking them for their years of service. The consensus of the Committee was to dissolve the ICRC effective May 1, 2015 and to establish a Business Leaders Forum as an advisory committee. Village staff was directed to prepare an ordinance dissolving the ICRC. Village staff was further directed to prepare an official letter to current ICRC members requesting their presence at the Village dinner on April 24. The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. c: Mayor & Board of Trustees, Village Manager, Deputy Village Manager, Assistant Village Manager, Village Clerk, Director of Public Works, Director of Community Development, Police Chief, Fire Chief, Finance Director, Village Attorney
