Zoning Variation — Docket #18-6 670 Magnolia Lane
Chairman Childress called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and read a statement describing the
hearing notification procedure as well as the legal notice.
The petitioner, Nadiya Savchuk, was sworn in and asked to present her case.
Mrs. Savchuk stated that in order to completely screen her air conditioning units from view, a
fence would need to extend past the nearest front corner of her neighbor's residence. The
proposed fence would provide a uniform appearance and would allow her to have a larger yard
due to her unique lot configuration and size.
Mr. Childress opened the meeting to questions from the board.
Mr. Bacigalupo stated that he did not feel a legitimate hardship was present to permit the fence
variation.
Mr. Dohrer noted that the proposed fence location presented no sight line issues.
Mr. Childress opened the meeting to questions from the public.
Kal Kutemeier, 1276 Maple Lane, had no objections to the request.
A motion to DO GRANT a variation for the installation and construction of a six (6') foot high
fence which will extend approximately seven (7') feet beyond the nearest front corner of the
principal structure on the adjacent single-family residential lot was made by Mr. Meister and
seconded by Mr. Bookler. Upon voting (AYES —Meister, Kelley, Childress, Dohrer, Colgan,
Jameel, Bookler, De Frenza.) (NAYES- Bacigalupo) The motion to DO GRANT the
variance passed by a vote of 8 to 1.
Mr. Childress advised the petitioner to contact the Village Clerk and attend the subsequent
Village Board Meeting. The meeting adjourned at 7:36 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
ared Polony
