DeFrenza M.Colgan L. Dohrer C. Kelley J. Meister, Sr. W. Jameel R. Bookler L. Bacigalupo Staff. J. Polony, Deputy Director, Community Development B. Kozor, Plan Reviewer/Inspection Supervisor, Community Development Zoning Variation — Docket #18-6 670 Magnolia Lane Chairman Childress called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and read a statement describing the hearing notification procedure as well as the legal notice. The petitioner, Nadiya Savchuk, was sworn in and asked to present her case. Mrs. Savchuk stated that in order to completely screen her air conditioning units from view, a fence would need to extend past the nearest front corner of her neighbor's residence. The proposed fence would provide a uniform appearance and would allow her to have a larger yard due to her unique lot configuration and size. Mr. Childress opened the meeting to questions from the board. Mr. Bacigalupo stated that he did not feel a legitimate hardship was present to permit the fence variation. Mr. Dohrer noted that the proposed fence location presented no sight line issues. Mr. Childress opened the meeting to questions from the public. Kal Kutemeier, 1276 Maple Lane, had no objections to the request. A motion to DO GRANT a variation for the installation and construction of a six (6') foot high fence which will extend approximately seven (7') feet beyond the nearest front corner of the principal structure on the adjacent single-family residential lot was made by Mr. Meister and seconded by Mr. Bookler. Upon voting (AYES —Meister, Kelley, Childress, Dohrer, Colgan, Jameel, Bookler, De Frenza.) (NAYES- Bacigalupo) The motion to DO GRANT the variance passed by a vote of 8 to 1. Mr. Childress advised the petitioner to contact the Village Clerk and attend the subsequent Village Board Meeting.
