Zoning Variation — Docket #18-5 1085 Tennessee Lane
Chairman Childress called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm and read a statement describing the
hearing notification procedure as well as the legal notice.
The petitioner, Rocco De Frenza, was sworn in and asked to present his case.
Mr. De Frenza stated that the existing fence was twenty one (21) years old and was beginning to
deteriorate and show signs of failure. He would like to install a six (6') foot tall, vinyl fence in
the same location as the existing fence. The new fence would require little to no maintenance and
would help to beautify the property and enhance the neighborhood.
Mr. Childress opened the meeting to questions from the board.
Mr. Bacigalupo asked the petitioner to present his hardship.
Mr. De Frenza stated the fence is used to provide security and safety for his pets and family.
Additionally, if he had to meet the current ordinance, the fence would be located in the middle of
his patio door which would drastically reduce the size of his existing backyard.
A motion to DO GRANT a variation for the installation and construction of a six (6') foot high
fence which will extend approximately twenty six (26') feet beyond the nearest front corner of
the principal structure on the adjacent single-family residential lot was made by Mr. Meister and
seconded by Mr. Colgan. Upon voting (AYES —Meister, Kelley, Childress, Dohrer, Colgan,
Jameel, Bookler, Bacigalupo.) (ABSTAIN- De Frezna) The motion to DO GRANT the
variance passed unanimously.
Mr. Childress advised the petitioner to contact the Village Clerk and attend the subsequent
Village Board Meeting. The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
ared Polony
