Land Acquisition
The Board discussed the Chelmsford property, which the Village is looking to acquire from Elk
Grove Township in a possible land swap. The Park District has expressed interest in this property,
however they have now notified the Village that they do not intend to utilize the building for a
daycare, but rather to tear it down. Additionally, the Park District does not want to pay the full $2
million valuation since they are not going to use the building. This plan is not yet public. The
Mayor will be meeting with the Park District Board President and Executive Director to discuss
these developments. There are other interested parties who would buy the property and continue
running a daycare. The consensus of the Board was to stick to the original valuation in negotiating
with the Park District.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:47 p.m.
